I am very pleasd with this products performance so far. The only negative I see is that it limits the size of input it will handle to to only 8GB. I was hoping to put all my home movies on 32GB or 64 GB flashdrives and play them through this machine. But when I tried to access the 32GB flashdrive it would not recognize it. After calling tech support i learned that it will only see up to 8GB. SO iguess it depends on what you are looking to play through it. I usualy put 6-8 movies on it and it works great for that.

I bought this not for video, but for showing slide shows on my 52″ plasma tv. Its going back to the store. My Tv has a SD card slot which allows me to view my photos. It does a great job with high quality resolution. I decided to get a media player so I could store and access all my photos without using individual flash cards. Twas’ not to be. When I hooked up the VMP with the HDMI cable and plugged in a USB drive loaded with pictures, SETUP would not let me choose any resolution other than 420p which creates a poor quality low resolution picture. I called tech support and was told this was the only resolution available for photos(jpeg). Consequently, the VMP is useless for showing photos, which in my opinion should be a main feature.

Everything that the seller says is on the mp3 player, is on the mp3 player. If you were hoping for a little extra, your not going to get it. I wish I waited to buy an mp3 player but this one has no problems. Its a bit small and if you like that then this is definitely something you should choose over bigger mp3 players like the itouch.

“Payus” (”Pay Us”) appears on the player’s screen when booting up.

Overall it seems like a decent, albeit slightly confusing, device. I wouldn’t give it to an older person who can’t reliably program a DVR.

I’m pleased that it offers an ebook reader in addition to the music and video players. I’ll try to post more after I’ve tinkered with it a bit.

I bought this media player to watch videos while traveling.

Video Tutorial:

I used a third party program called handbrake, cut the width to 320 and the bitrate to 300, which is the setting I’ve been using for a sony walkman I have. Use the mpeg-4 video codec, rename the file with a .mp4 extension and you are ready to roll.

The sound quality is great, but the Video just isn’t cutting it. Bright colored shows are fine, but darker shows like trueblood – forget about it. You can kinda watch it if you are sitting in a dark room.

The price is great, but I’ll probably give this player to someone else.

Bought this back in June of 2009 for my 12 year old. He enjoyed it at first, until it began to fail. First was the charger, it would not stay on the outlet and kept falling off. The metal contacts would not charge player properly (have to wiggle it or tape it down). Next to go was the touch screen, not entirely but it became less and less responsive over time and eventually lost some functionality in the forward/back buttons. He has since handed it down to his little sister to play with :) He’s got an ipod touch now, which he loves. This player served it’s purpose for a year, but has little to no resale value. It’s a good start for basic touch features, but it does look a bit outdated now with the blueish screen and chrome accents :/

Maybe if they included a black skin for it, it would modernize it a bit!

The accessories it came with were all replaced soon after, as they were either very cheap or uncomfortable to use.

Since 2007 my son has had the Ipod Shuffle (which was ripped off) confusing at first to try and download music other then that cannot comment since he had it less then a month. His dad then bought a Sansa to replace the Shuffle which was came with plenty of memory to download music but he kept blowing out his earbuds, can’t say for sure if it is the operator or the product, at one point no plugs would fit it without static. He tried electrical tape but looked crappy and still didn’t work well. For Christmas 2009 we decided to replace the Sansa with Pro Ebiz LLC: PE 16gb Multi Media Player. My son who is now 14 has been nothing but happy with this MP3 player, 3rd time being a charm has taken better care of it then any of the other electronics he has. Unfortunately while camping over the 4th of July this summer it was dropped just as we were unpacking at our cabin. Big crack right down the middle and went dead. His face read volumes, so his dad and I decided to once again replace it since this one truly was an accident, plus he had taken such care with the first one was/is still very happy with the product that he chose to replace it with the same kind. It arrived a couple of days after ordering even though it said 5-7 working days. Remain happy with the product. Just wish there was something to childproof these things, but you can’t have everything!!!

For the money I didn’t know what to expect….and was somewhat pleasantly surprised. The features were as advertised and all functioned well. Effectively speaking, there are no instructions with this unit–you are on your own and it takes a fair amount of trial and error to figure it out. The pictures and video were of acceptable quality. The sound quality over earphones was surprisingly good, directly from the unit worthless. Durability is yet to be determined but so far I am happy with the purchase.

Ok, now that I’ve had it for a couple of weeks I figure I can tell you what I think.

It arrived faster than expected and in good condition.

The instructions were fairly easy to understand but I didn’t really need then as it’s operation is fairly straight forward if you have some computer knowledge.

I found it’s better to load music in folders as it’s easier to navigate to albums or specific types or collections of music.

The same for videos.

Movies seem to play fine for me I haven’t had any problems.

Battery life is ok but it could be better.

Sound quality is great, but I am using some Sentry earbuds I got at BigLots for $5.50.

and it does have 16gb’s of space so I have yet to fill even half of it so far.

I like the fact that unlike Ipods I’m not tied to Itunes.

I can just drag and drop files into it from my computer without having to use someones proprietary software.

The touch screen unlike some reviews works fine for me just using my big fingers it just takes getting used to it.

Practice makes perfect.

…..it just passed the Return date and guess what?

It won’t work anymore. It refuses to take a charge.

I tried the reset and nothing. It’s just dead.

Save your money.

Don’t buy it!!!!

Save up and buy a more expensive but better product from someone else.
